Phil Isenbarger, Co-Captain of IU’s 1981  NCAA Championship team hosts, The Hoosier Basketball Experience. As a lawyer and a coach he has stayed close to the basketball scene in Indiana. Coach ISO interviews legends of the game exploring their basketball history, recruitment and where they are today (family, occupation & community involvement and how basketball shaped their lives).

HOWARD KELLMAN

Howard Kellman has been the play by play announcer for the Indianapolis Indians for 48 years and has been the play by play announcer at WHMB TV covering High School football and basketball games of the week for 31 years.

Howard Kellman majored in radio and television at Brooklyn College receiving his B.A. degree with Cum Laude honors in 1975. During those undergraduate years Howard was the radio and television voice of St. John’s basketball from 1973-75. He was a writer and producer for WINS Radio (New York City), the first ever all news station in the U.S.

While juggling the Indians and high school on-air jobs, Howard was Sports Director at WNDE in 1981, hosted radio shows on WXLW and WNDE called “Great Baseball Memories”. These programs were a series of vignettes Kellman put together with his baseball background. He also hosts a TV show “Inside the Indians” focusing on the Tribe airing on WHMB TV40.

Howard has covered the World Series, Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, Notre Dame, Indiana State University, Purdue, and Indiana University Sports for CBS, ABC and AP Radio.  There were times when he filled-in and did play-by-play for the Chicago White Sox, New York Mets and Cleveland Cavaliers and was a sideline reporter for Yale Football in 2012 on the YES television network, play-by-play announcer for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Triple A World Series on ESPN2.

Howard was inducted into the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018, Inducted into the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2015 and Inducted into the Indiana Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame in 2009.  In 2002 he was the Indiana Sportscaster of the year.

Howard has broadcast for eight Championship Baseball Teams; the second most of any announcer in Baseball History.  He has interviewed everybody from Michael Jordan and Major League Baseball Commissioner “Bud” Selig to Pete Rose and Larry Bird.

Howard’s motto is: PEP – Pursue Excellence Passionately and in addition to being an award winning sportscaster he is a professional speaker & accomplished author.  Howard leads and speaks at Motivational and Sales Seminars in Indiana and throughout the United States.  Associations and Corporations love listening to Howard share his humorous sports stories and life lessons.

Todd Melloh has been around the media business for over 30 years.  Before Todd joined WHMB TV40 as color analyst for football games in 2016, Todd started his broadcasting career in high school at Warren Central, where he announced over 50 sporting events as a high school student.

Todd
went onto Vincennes University for one year and got incredible radio and TV opportunities as a freshman, including as a sports reporter, play-by-play announcer and anchor for WVUT, Channel 22.

Todd finished college at Butler University where he gained more experience covering the Colts as a weekly beat reporter, announcing Butler football and basketball games fro WAJC, 104.5 FM.


After graduating from Butler University, Todd spent 8 years with the Indianapolis Colts selling and marketing for the team, where he was heavily involved in the media programs that were bought, sold and produced.  Todd was the Colts Game Day Producer for 3 years, served as the on-field announcer and producer of the Colts Weekly TV Show.

Todd has worked for WXXP in Anderson, where he called high school football games; Comcast Sports, where he announced college basketball games on TV; Ball State Athletics, as an Executive Producer; IHSAA Media Network, where he served as a sideline reporter for state finals broadcasts; Todd also served as the Executive Producer of sports documentaries, called SportsClub.  Three of these documentaries won national production awards, including a story about the Evansville Aces basketball team, who died in a plane crash.

Todd is married to Carrie, a family doctor in Fishers and they have 4 boys, Luke, Evan, Graham and Hudson.

Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee in 1999, Inducted into the Hamilton Co. Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005, Noblesville High School Hall of Fame in 2005 and Montgomery Co. Hall of Fame in 2014, Director Emeritus for Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

Won IBCA District III Coach of the year 3 times, President of Indiana Basketball Coaches in 1983, President of Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame for 2 terms.

Dave has spent more than 30 years as the color analyst for WHMB TV40, enjoyed 32 years teaching & resides in Noblesville with his wife Julia.  They have been members of First Christian Church in Noblesville for 47 years where Dave has held several leadership positions.

Coach Iso was an all – state player from Muncie who went on to play for IU & Bobby Knight.  During his 4 years at IU the Hoosiers went to the Sweet Sixteen twice, won the NIT and two Big Ten titles before winning the NCAA championship in 1981 where he was a co-captain. 

After graduating from law school, he pursued his passion for coaching youth even before he and wife Jenny had school age children.  For more than 30 years he has served as a volunteer high school coach for both boys and girls basketball.

A 2017 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee he now serves as executive board member.  He hosts The Hoosier Basketball Experience and provides color commentary on WHMB.

A partner at the world’s largest law firm (Dentons), he has been a litigation attorney for 40 years and has served the Indianapolis Bar Association for decades including as it’s President and current delegate to the ABA.  Recognized as a top 1% legal counsel, he looks forward to retirement in the not too distant future.

He and wife Jenny, a decorated marathon runner, have 3 children, all of whom were multi-sport high school athletes and full scholarship players at division I universities. Between them, their children earned 30 Varsity letters in high school.  In addition to high school basketball, Coach Iso has coached youth basketball, football, soccer, baseball and softball.  Other than with his family, there is nowhere Coach Iso would rather be than on a field or in the gym….or talking about it on WHMB TV40!
